Mid-Summer Update

The summer is half over and as we ease towards autumn, our thoughts naturally turn to dancing!  CDW has an exciting program for the 2014-2015 dance schedule — with a few ‘extras’ — so reserve your dates on your calendar now.  The Schedule for 2014-2015 may be found here:

NOTE that one of the ‘extras’ this year is a special dance on Sunday afternoon, 2 November which will mark the 40th anniversary of CDW.  This dance will be held at St Thomas in Mamaroneck (as is our spring ball) and will feature a cavalcade of callers, musicians, dancers, friends and perhaps a few surprises from CDW’s past, present and future.  Please do plan to join us for this special celebration and all our dances in 2014-2015!

A Special Video Treat!

Though the Celebration of Spring Ball in late March retreats into the past, memories of a wonderful evening go on, and Paul Ross has shared a video to renew those memories — a rendition of Winter Waltz taped at the ball.

From Paul:  “With a big thank you to the six dancers and one caller who made our Spring Ball version of Winter Waltz such a beautiful thing to behold. All the musicians are delighted with it, and I am too. I hope you feel a sense of accomplishment in helping to create this very nice memento of what CDW can achieve; how appropriate as a marker of our 40th year!”

Enjoy the video of Winter Waltz, as you await tomorrow evening featuring dances for Spring!
